The Position:

For the academic year 2018/19 we are tentatively seeking qualified, experienced and passionate educators to assume the role of a

Cycle 1 Class Teacher: Kindergarten-Grade 2 (100%)

Primary teachers at OBS are responsible for the academic and social development of their students. They are also expected to be an active member of the school community, working closely with their partner teacher and collaborating with the wider team. We expect our teachers to actively take part in committees and school development as well as maintaining a strong commitment to professional development and lifelong learning.

What we require:

• -  Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with a primary school teaching qualification

• -  Experience as a class teacher with strong classroom management skills

• -  Native English speaker with basic understanding of German or willingness to partake in English courses

• -  Strong organisational and communication skills

• -  Independence and the ability to handle stressful situations and the conflicting demands of the school community

• -  Adaptability, flexibility, openness towards new ideas – willingness to work in a private school environment

• -  A commitment to integrating technology into lessons on a daily basis

• -  Loyalty and a commitment to the school, its vision and being a role model through living the OBS Universe of

  Values.

• -  An attitude of international mindedness and lifelong learning – a commitment to continuous professional

  development

  What we desire:

• -  An advanced degree

• -  Previous bilingual school teaching experience

• -  Previous teaching experience in different systems/contexts

• -  Knowledge of the Swiss education system and the Lehrplan 21 curriculum

• -  An understanding of the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and is philosophy

• -  An interest in contemporary pedagogical research and literature
